How to Draw What You See

This is one of my favorite finds this past year! Everyone wishes that he/she could faithfully reproduce the world around them, wishes that they could draw what they see. I talk to hundereds of those people every year on the phones and at conventions. Here is a book that teaches you how. In 3 dimensional drawing, there are 4 basic shapes: The Cube, Sphere, Cylinder and Cone. Every object is based on one or more of those shapes. Once you see the basic shapes of a object you can begin to draw it, no matter how much detail it may contain. Part one discusses the fundamentals of Drawing, Structure, Form, Perspective, Light and Shade, Composition, Values etc. In part 2 you learn to use media such as Wash, Charcoal, Watercolor, and Acrylic in Still Life, Outdoor, Figure, Hands and Feet, Heads and Faces, etc. This is an excellent book for Ages 9 through Adult. 173 pages, black and white illustations.
